About Me

I have been engaged in art for nearly my entire life.  I have worked in a variety of media and focused on a number of subjects, all with the purpose of creating something beautiful.  Ultimately that journey led me to focus on the beauty of the female form as viewed through black and white photography.

My work celebrates the beauty of the female form and spirit.  I strive for my work to be uplifting, celebratory and aesthetically pleasing, yet rich in complexity, causing the viewer to repeatedly return to the piece to find something new.  While my aesthetic sense springs from a wonder at the variety and mystery of the body’s physical reality, my photographs are often aimed at recording the beauty of the female form from an abstract point of view.

I think the world would be a better place if we all focused more of our attention on creating and appreciating beauty.  Although I greatly enjoy exhibiting my artwork, over the last few years I have focused my attention on publishing my artwork in order to reach a wider audience with whom to share it.
My studio is located in the United States, in Takoma Park, which is located in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.  I have exhibited my artwork in venues across North America, Europe and Asia.  I have received multiple awards and have had my artwork published in numerous publications on art or featuring art photography.  My work has also been licenced for use by musical artists for compact disc covers and related promotional materials.

I am continuously doing new work whether to prepare for a specific exhibit, to expand my offerings, or to simply develop as an artist. I have found that even if similar poses are used, each piece is as unique as the individual or individuals involved. I have also found that every individual has at least one shot that, above all others in the shoot or in the series, brings out her unique beauty that cannot be successfully duplicated with any other person. While I often use models for numerous shoots, in order to keep the work fresh and interesting, it is necessary to have a variety of models of all ethnicities, skin tones and body types.

It is my hope that Model Mayhem will enable me to connect with additional models who are enthusiastic about sharing their beauty as works of art.
