Photography started out for me as a way to capture landscapes and the surrounding I found myself in. I loved details in a scene, as well as how an entire view made me feel. I started in Calgary, sunsets, rural views, soaking in the country sights and this prairie city grit that is on the ground, blowing with the wind, and at times stuck in your teeth.

I moved to Vancouver for work and spent all my free time hiking the mountains, walking the coast and absorbing the different energy, grit and grime and real beauty of the downtown core in both its modern and historical architecture. Weekends were spent chasing waterfalls and rivers to capture the movement of water and the many colours of green.

Moving back to Calgary I was a little lost after being spoiled by the outwardly vibrancy of the west coast. But then I realized while the west coast had a character out front and in its surroundings, I came to notice the Calgary character is in its people. I found that I was surrounded by a lot of interesting people, doing really interesting things. And that was what I set out to capture.

In doing so I found that connecting with people through photography was an unexpected gratification. I found the extraordinary in ordinary people, but also the ordinary in extraordinary people. That is what hooked me about portrait photography. And that is why I want to connect with people that are looking to create the same something out of the same nothing. Whether you are a model, make-up artist, set designer, whatever kind of visual artist vision you have, I would love to connect.
