Ruth is an award-winning portrait, editorial, and commercial photographer based in the Washington, DC Metro area. Her experience includes political work for Obama for America and numerous White House and agency assignments, as well as for National Geographic, Brandi Carlile, Latina Style, and other high-profile clients.

Her work was commended and displayed at Sony World Photo in London in 2012, and she has been published in Washingtonian Wedding Blog, Politico, Mothering Magazine, Camera Obscura Magazine, Tot Trends Weekly, Horse Talk, and in the Random House coffee table book, "The Big Book of Babies." She has also served as the Chapter Director for Flashes of Hope at Children's National Medical Center.

In 2012, Ruth and her photography partner, Samara Hutcheson, launched Love is Love Weddings, providing fine art LGBT wedding photography for the DC, New York, and travel markets. In February 2014, they were interviewed and profiled for their LGBT wedding work in Professional Photographer Magazine.
