Maya (she/her, they/them) is a model, dancer, actor, writer, activist, and teacher based in Brooklyn, NY. Described in a few words, she is enthusiastic, dynamic, warm, responsible, professional and communicative. Maya has worked extensively with various photographers in both studio and outdoor settings around the country, and they walked for NYFW in Fall of 2019 for multiple designers. Their experience of being a professional dancer constantly informs their time in front of the camera.
In her artistic and daily practices she is committed to exploring avenues of creative expression and collaboration that are possible in a city as vibrant as NYC. The collaboration between model and photographer, body and camera, movement and stillness, emotional content and visual abstraction all feed her desire to support herself and other people in feeling liberated in the multidimensional expression of the self.
Maya is excited to explore new collaborations with different artists throughout the city, as there is an infinity of worlds and ideas to discover. She is excited to work with you!
