About Me

I've taken many photography classes at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and Rice. It's been a while since I've done much in the way of model photography but want to get back into it. I prefer B & W film but have the ability to use digital also.
I have a farm so being able to shoot in the woods is an advantage if you like a natural setting.
I like to shoot with harsh lighting so I can use shadows and highlights to accentuate parts of the body. This makes for better solarized prints. If you have an idea of a shot you would like to do, let's try it. Never hurts to step out of our comfort zone. Will shoot couples if you want.
Solarization is a process that is done when the print is being made. Some programs claim to be able to do the process but I have never been able to duplicate it with a computer. The way I found to work is to flash a light during the development of the print while it is in the developer. There are many variables, duration of the flash of light, intensity of the light, type of paper, age of the developer and the time into the development stage are just some of the variables. I found the way that worked best for me was to use the flash from the camera so the duration and intensity was almost constant. In the dark room I would flash it off the back wall, to the ceiling and back down to the print. For an interesting effect, I would bump the developer pan to create little ripples in the developer which added to the end process. A lot of paper was thrown away to get a once in a lifetime print. It can never be duplicated due to the variables but it can be scanned in and copied.
