It is not a pursuit of immortality or an interest in legacy. It is simply a picture, an idea for the consideration of an interested observer. It is something to add to their perspective. Perhaps it is only an experience second-hand or one which touches an idea inside of them that seemed to have no other human connection. Authorship is unavoidable and our brief existence insures that our works will outlive us for a time. Eventually our names will lose all connection with the ideas we have wondered about, but through the communion of art and viewer, these ideas may find their place in our reflections and stories and flow in the blood of those who will never know us.

I am always looking for models who share a passion for creative collaboration resulting in works that are otherwise impossible without their contributions. I have worked with enough great models to know that ability to evoke emotion or to create the dynamic, is not simply a matter of taking direction but is found in the understanding of the self, in that intersection of ideas and meaning.

I teach life drawing in Loveland, Colorado. The focus of this class is on the historical significance of the figure. Students learn the envelope and block in method in order to accurately represent a believable, dynamic human. This is comparative measuring as opposed to sight-size.
