After serving in the military, Genise Wright decided to pursue her dream in becoming a hairstylist. She received her cosmetology education from Paul Mitchell the School Atlanta. During her time as a student, Genise entered in the 2018 Beacon contest and was chosen to represent Georgia. This opportunity allowed her to travel to Las Vegas for training from some of the top leaders in the beauty industry.

Her experience with Beacon motivated her to continue her education and additionally pursue a barber license. Genise is skilled in all hair types but she has a passion for textured, curly hair and barbering.

During the spring of 2020, Genise felt led to relocate to Texas to join @gospelpillarschurchtexas. As her faith began to grow to higher levels, she began to pray and patiently wait for God's direction for a new location. After several months of shutdowns and searching, she found the perfect location in Arlington, TX. Green Cupid Hair Studio was created and marked a new chapter in her career as a barber/cosmetologist.

Serving others and giving back to the community is another one of her passions. Genise is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.. She has been involved with various programs like Pink Goes Red for American Heart Association, mental health programs with NAMI and suicide awareness walk.
