I originally learned photography in the Army and after more than a decade doing it as a hobby I decided to take it to the next level. Most of my early photography was focused on macros, wildlife, or street photography. With every photo I took in those fields I attempted to tell a story. In telling a story I feel a good photograph should transport the viewer to two places. Firstly, a good photograph should transport the viewer to the moment the shot was taken, allowing them to feel the emotion and essence of that instant. Secondly, a good photograph should carry the viewer to a moment in their own life where that same emotion was intensely present. I have been able to accomplish this in my previous work and now I want to take my story telling to the world of portraits. I have a limited portrait portfolio and want to expand it with talented people. That's why I am here, trying to grow my portfolio as well as my skills in a different genre of story telling. While growing in these ways I hope to meet interesting people and share their story in our combined work.
