I am a fine artist (painting/printmaking) who occasionally works from a model.

The photography has become a side interest as a result.

I typically shoot in a studio that I build for the occasion. I provide models with props and often ask them to improvise, using the prop as a starting place. Props I have used include long, black gloves, masks, boas, a bath towel, assorted chairs and tables.

I try to capture the real person behind the model. When I paint, I want to work from images that show the model's true self, not the public side that you would see in a typical studio photograph.

I try to work with natural light only, but often have to augment with lights and reflectors.
