About Me

I am about to release my first book D-Tour: D-TOUR has taken three years to complete with shoots taking place in South Africa, Paris, London and Los Angeles. The book is a photographic retrospective of gothic, fetish and alternative glamour fashion. The images are intended to have a raw, edgy and sometimes over processed look and feel. The images have various influences from early punk sub culture through to burlesque icons such as Betty Page and the gothic movement of the 80's as well as fetish.

Dave Nemeth is a digital artist from South Africa who has been experimenting in various mediums over the years, specializing in digital photography he feels he has the most freedom in adapting the way we see everyday sightings which we mostly take for granted. Having formally studied art and design from 1990 – 1994, he is influenced by various artists such as Andy Warhol, Dali, Phillippe Stark and Karim Rashid. Other influences are photographer Anton Corbijn as well as architecture. I use Photoshop CS2 to enhance photo’s yet steer clear of using standard filters instead I adjust specific elements and play with lighting and shadows.IT is proof that composition and subject matter play a more important role than the technology itself.

The photographic works cover a broad spectrum of themes and subject matter as well as a variety of styles and manipulations. He firmly believes that creating an emotion is far more appealing than a technically brilliant photo that lacks soul. He has often been told that he is in a fortunate position due to the fact that he travels all over the globe twice a year. Some of his best shots however were taken literally in his back yard i.e. Tap and purple flowers. Subject matter is everywhere is purely how it is shot and interoperated.

His latest gallery is a tribute to the Burlesque, which is influenced by Betty Page and Dita Von Teese. South African models are welcome to contact him should they wish for a similar portfolio.

Dave Nemeth will be holding a solo exhibition in March 2007.He is also being featured in a top photographic magazine. his artworks are being marketed both locally and internationally. They are printed in limited editions as large scale photos and large canvasses.

Please don't hesitate to contact him should you wish to display his photography in your Gallery, both locally and internationally.
