About Me

Second-generation photographer. I finally have gotten to the point where I have both time and resources to pursue photography as a hobby. I never wanted to do it "half-assed." I learned a lot from my father, but never really had any desire to follow photography when I was younger (I think it was a patience thing.) As I have aged, I have learned to enjoy the process. Getting there is as important as the outcome. I have spent the money to upgrade my equipment and with that comes the desire to upgrade the models I work with. I want artists who bring ideas, energy and experience to sessions.

I view myself more as an artistic photographer. I will spend hours hunting around for the newest studio to rent or location to shoot. I leave the camera in "auto" most of the time- if that makes me less of a photographer, so be it. I enjoy unique lighting and shadows. I have just started experimenting with post production editing and colorization- the jury is still out on that. I typically leave the pose up to the model, frankly, models are better at the details of posing. I typically have a few random ideas come to mind during the shoot that I want to try as well.. I also enjoy "parts" photography using a macro lens and making the image abstract with colors and effects.  I have found it takes patience- everything detail matters and that is what I enjoy. Recently, I have gone to the expense to start working in infrared (IR) photography. It is not easy and takes patience but the final images can be breathtaking.

Finally, I ask all the models I work with to sign a release. Monetizing my work is not the most important thing but if the opportunity presents itself, I like to be able to take advantage of the chance. The models I work with receive a link to the "unedited" versions of the photos we've taken on my Drop Box account but the edited and finished images are mine.

NOTE: The links to my Instagram and webpage may or may not work. They are a a work in progress for now.
