About Me

I've shown and sold my nudes at three, One-Man Exhibitions in Pittsburgh after the head of the Andy Warhol Foundation -- Donald Warhola -- saw the prints that I exposed on fiber paper in my darkroom in Pittsburgh. I was shocked after I sold 6 pieces at my first show! So, I moved to Los Angeles, CA and then to Orange County where I shoot now.

Then, the editor of a local art weekly news magazine -- OCWeekly -- put me on their cover with a former Miss Vietnam who was the first person I saw after I woke up out of my coma. Turns out, a drunk driver killed me dead -- I had no heart rhythm for "38 minutes to an hour" according to CARE Ambulance -- after I sustained a brain injury while moving a dirtbike in between shots on New Year's Eve '04...the shot was for the cover MPN magazine.

And, just when you thought it couldn't get any better...more recently, I had over $70K worth of pro Canon gear stolen out of my storage unit while I was moving between studios. I now own a sweet collection of Sony and Canon camera gear...some early Nikon film gear, too.

To me, a Woman's Body is the ultimate subject. My early instructors in Pittsburgh taught me to DRAW THE VIEWER INTO THE IMAGE using shadows. You want them to work for it.

So, one of my shooting styles is to move large, soft lights very slowly around your body until I see intrigue. This normally happens when the edge of a shadow lands on an interesting part of your body. Everyone's body is different, of course. So, I never rush this discovery process, and instead choose to collaborate with the model and/or friends present to get everyone's opinion on which image they like best...we're shooting and partying the entire time, btw.

I try never to direct or pose you, either. Instead, with your favorite tunes playing, I try to shoot what you're FEELING and EXPRESSING at the time...non-stop. If something suddenly pops up on the monitor that looks like it has promise, that's when we'll generally stay with that position and keep moving the lights until we have the absolute perfect shot.

Outdoors, I like to Shoot Action...again, the music will be playing and we're partying just waiting for that perfect shot to manifest itself....usually, it doesn't take too long. I've been doing this stuff for a long, long time now.
