About Me

THE BELOW NEEDS UPDATED.  BARE WITH ME.

Work is currently being featured in 3 Downtown Indianapolis galleries/venues, and in collections throughout the country.  Please contact for more information, or if you would like to model for painting to be included in my new show in August 2011

Open Tuesday -- Saturday, Noon -- 8pm

I am primarily a professional artist/illustrator, but I also work in photography also to help create opportunities to work with models, and because I also love the medium.  While art is my first love, the right concept or look is welcome for photography.  When I started here, there was no "artist" category, and I continue to keep this profile as it serves best to be found by models for ALL of my work.

I am de-emphasizing my photography in this profile until I would have time to properly devote to photocentric projects again.

I want to emphasize that if I label a piece in my portfolio as "Painting" or "Illustration", it is actually hand-produced art and not a series of Photoshop trickery or plug-ins.

I specialize in illustration, portraiture, and figure work, and enjoy working with models in a collaborative process over them being simply "wax fruit".  I always prefer models who have ideas and enjoy being part of GOOD art.

I am especially interested in working with figure models who have fuller figures and curves, plus-size, ethnicity, pregnant, and family (sisters, siblings, etc).  These have been historically difficult to find for me, and I want to expand my portfolio.

FOR ART MODELING: My model release/contract legally states that the photo reference will be used only for the creation of the art, and never sold, displayed, transferred or published, with myself retaining all rights.  This is for the benefit of amateur models, and figure work where the model would not normally be receptive because of the "image preference" issues is can cause.  The only exception is those photo works which I create for the model's portfolio, which I ask on an individual basis for permission to also add to my portfolio.

Examples of my portfolio development photography can be seen on my referenced website above.

While I do not at all work exclusively with art-nude (somewhat rare in photography), when I do, I only do classically-inspired, tasteful poses when working with figure.  I am not seeking FHM/Maxim bikini shoots or anything overly erotic or adult in nature.

For portraiture, I prefer models who have or can present a timeless look over the more edgy high-fashion look.  Good facial expressions, ability to "gesture", and dance and acting experience is always a plus.

I am always receptive to ideas from the model if there is something they would like to be a part of, or a look they would like to create.

If any of this is of interest, I encourage you to contact me and discuss projects.  A portfolio of my work is available at my website, and references are always available.

I am available for limited TFP/CD work with exceptional models, or in exchange for those interested in being a part of my painting or drawing works (subject to open qualified projects).  For portfolio-specific shoots or commissioned portraiture, please contact me for rates and availability.
