Akuete Kpodar (AK) was born in the African country of Togo. After arriving in the United States, AK began do a variety of jobs. He began his modeling career in the closing of 2004.  Sneaking into a models’ casting call intended for a friend, he was selected as one of the chosen models.  While having his trial experiences with the “Pay-for-it-if-you-want-it” so-called professionals, this business became somewhat of a challenge for him.  AK is a great fighter (Karate), but little did he know he would also have to fight through this industry taking the bitter with the sweet.  Luckily he was able to dominate the runway and participate in a fashion show with AKA Productions.  From this production he was entered into a modeling competition being the only male selected.  This exposure gave him just enough confidence and networking experiences, that he was able to start building Tear Sheets from several shows around the Atlanta, Georgia area with ease.

A few months later he was approached by a Representative from SixPackNow (http://www.sixpacknow.com ), and was offered the opportunity to be featured as their Best Abs of the Month in the November 2005 issue.  This was just the right landing place for future flights allowing other magazines to request this divinely built model.  Magazines that AK has been showcased and featured in include the First Edition of Michelle’s World; Beverly Hills, Black Health 1 (http://www.BlackHealth1.com )-as a fitness model, http://www.blackrefer.com/modelmale_7.html
and Fresh Faces Magazine; Atlanta, GA.  With an invite to the New York fashion week, AK began to see that this business was starting to become second nature to him through the wonderful resume that he was beginning to collect.  Although he was unable to attend Fashion Week NY, just knowing that it was an option that he had was more than enough for him to realize that he better stay on this path set before him.

Shortly after his Fashion Week invite, he was now requested to come to Los Angeles for pending and future projects by Charles J. Lovely, Sr.  Immediately, AK jumped on a plane to accept the opportunity and he was able to complete a very successful photo-shoot tour, including Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Kenneth Hahn Park, and Sunset Blvd.  To gain a better handle on the traveling aspect of the modeling industry, he entered the Model Universe Weekend Showcase in Miami, FL.  Taking the 5th place trophy out of 69 models, AK knew for a fact that his one and a half year career was definitely in need of continuance and graduation.

AK is now residing in Los Angeles, California and will be using this as his base-of-operation home, amongst his fellow hungry and motivated peers. Making this transitional change right before the 2007 New Year campaign, he is ready and excited to allow L.A. to receive and welcome his many talents.  With his strong presence and professionalism he is able to captivate an audience naturally.  AK does not limit his talents to just modeling, he has taken acting classes, is a great salsa, bachata, meringue, reggae and hip-hop dancer.  His athletic ability includes his love of many sports. He has played soccer, basketball, football, and ran track. AK speaks several languages including English, French, and some Spanish. This goes to show that he knew being bilingual would not only help him in life itself, but could and would assist him in advancing in his career.  Words will find themselves busy with this man’s many attributes, so needless to say, but AK is an all-around talented individual and without being cocky, has it going on.
