About Me
I have been a photographer for twelve years and am currently semi-professional. My artistic inclinations move me toward compositions which embody several themes or styles, often in contrast. I prefer creating images incorporating retro themes, urban decay, and sexuality. While I do tend to utilize post-processing tools, I feel that the image is captured at the moment I open the shutter.
NOTE: I have been on hiatus for several months due to both personal and professional conflicts. I appreciate all of the requests I have received over this time, and I will get back to everyone and see what your status is now and if you are interested and/or available to shoot. The text that was in this exact place in my profile for almost a year contained many ideas and a goals I wanted to meet to flesh them out. I was very excited to hopefully end up with a work product that had a unique novelty, and thematically it would address a question many photographers contemplate (whether consciously or not).... "In a model-centric photograph-what and how can art be defined?". Everything has paramaters even if those parameters are dynamic. That is why I find photography in this period so exciting. And that goal above remains my intention. However, as stated above, it has been awhile since I have been shooting regularly, and would like to just get back in a studio and allow myself to be creative without any master plan or self-imposed obligation to create something specific. Initially, I would like to do a few shoots without an emphasis on anything in particular (left only to a spontaneous imagination I or the model(s) with whom I work might have as the shoot progesses. The only thing I want to do is feel unrestrained creativity, and just see what happens. Incidentally, I had an opportunity to spend the summer in Milwaukee. Getting out of Chicago for a few months after 10-15 years has turned out to be a rather relaxing decision. I am also excited because in the last 6 months, I have had an upgrade/update in equipment, and through contacts and photographers I know in Milwaukee, I will be fortunate enough to have liberal access to unique studio space until I return to Chicago. Added 7/28/2009: Below is a link to a site I found by accident. From the time I have spent reading, it seems quite informative on erotic/glamour, especially regarding lesser known aspects traditional and modern. I thought I would share it -- although I am not exactly an old hand at this, it would seem to have something for photogs with all levels of experience. http://figureshooter.com/ Verified Credits (0)Worked with Connor Troy Design?
