A native New Yorker but California based Melanie Andrews Scanlan has immersed herself in the Mecca of the film and art world, Los Angeles. She was born and raised in Chappaqua, New York but from the big apple to the sun shiny state she goes. Although the beautiful weather in Los Angeles is superb it isn’t always enough to suffice her personality.... Melanie frequently returns back east to visit family and friends and would never turn down work opportunities elsewhere. Melanie also enjoys traveling, especially when work can be incorporated. She traveled to Asia for modeling and lived in Tokyo for 3 months. She loves Paris, London and all the energy big cities bring.

With creativity at heart, Melanie enjoys writing, reading plays, re-enacting plays, watching films and developing. Melanie attended Arizona State University where she majored in Broadcasting, communications and minored in Theatre. She studied summers in NYC at the Herbert Bergdorf HB Studios, while modeling and taking classes. Although a more corporate lifestyle was always encouraged by her family, Melanie always dared to take the road less traveled and endeavor in unusual and outstanding creative career moves. After university it was straight to Hollywood! In Melanie’s spare time when she’s not making movies or working on her artistic craft, she’s spending time with her loved ones.

Melanie loves nature, the outdoors and all sport activities; skiing, horseback riding, rock climbing, sailing and surfing. Anything adventurous she loves it! She loves the water and ocean and can swim forever. She was a life guard during her high school and college summers. Melanie especially loves the ocean and could imagine one day living on an island with content. Melanie loves to explore, take wild chances and do the unusual and unexpected.
