About Me

Americans (and for sure, I am one) have this strange notion that certain bits and pieces of a person are the distinction between acceptable and unacceptable. (ripped from George Carlin)

Me, being the outsider that I am, feel that it’s not about bits and pieces. Morality is way bigger than that. Beauty and the human condition is way bigger than that.

Does the work have some reason?  Certainly, there are plenty of photographers willing to pander to their libido. That ain't me.

Much like a filmmaker, I'm interested in telling stories with my still photography.  Stories about the amazing human experience and It's mysteries, it's triumphs, it's sadness.

If you've got the gift of perspective, and believe that I would honor your trust, with my best work, perhaps we can produce something actually valuable and certainly unforgettable.

I start with a wide open palette and go from there... Way before I use  my cameras, I use my heart, mind and imagination.  Nothing about the process is fast. (Usually)

Many are called, only a few are chosen.

My Grandmother, Ruby Darby, taught me that women were beautiful (and strong) and that faithful, passionate art can have great value.

My work, (my existence) is dedicated to her memory.

Thanks Gramma... I miss you so very much.
