A trooper when it comes to this part of the game. Lakedra “Raquel” Reed is the anticipated designer of this century. This CoCo Chanel influenced but yet driven fashion designer classifies herself in her own category. Lakedra has always considered fashion as a part of her life. She would say “I have a passion for Fashion.” That statement alone is definitely true when it comes to Lakedra Reed. Lakedra did not come from a background of the craft of designing. She just attended a regular institution with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. You can say she has not had the proper training as any other designer. But that is just what makes Lakedra who she is. Just to be blessed with a talent that God gave her and just mating with the craft is what she adores and what she shows to the world, “Raquel”.

The founder and CEO of Couture Statis in which is the company name that Raquel by Lakedra Reed follows under. Raquel by Lakedra Reed was launch in February 2005. Graduating in December 2004 from the University of Southern Mississippi, Lakedra said she wanted to do it like it was written to have been done. “I always said when I graduate from college I would introduce to the world Raquel, where ever I would be at”, said Lakedra. Lakedra then relocated moving to Atlanta, Ga. Where she went on to do several things such as more fashion shows and competition as well as movies. Becoming Grip’s Magazine Fashion Editor/ Marketing Forecaster., Lakedra has done well and still continuing on her journey.  “It is a must that Raquel has a theme for every show presented to the world. Each piece I create is inspired from something so that is how I take my themes in consideration for the fashion shows”, Reed Said. The focus of always creating environments and themes for her shows she went on to do “Change Clothes” theme was a set up of an artsy bedroom feel with mirrors and  etc.. Creating the environment is what Couture Statis does.
