HI!  I'm an ARTIST / SCULPTOR in Tennessee, famous for its Jackie D., and ELVIS. For many years I have worked with models whom I have both painted and sculpted, and it has been fun meeting new people all the time. Faces and figures have been my gig for so long that I thought I would begin offering my services here on MM for any who might be interested in having their face or physique (or both) commemorated for the ages, ha. So many models and body-builders I've met are keenly aware of the time-clock facing their bodies which will gradually ease them away from their chosen profession, and I hope to therefore record them at the PEAK of their physical perfection! I have been called a "commemorative artist", and that is exactly what I was when I worked in the field of coins and medals at the Philadelphia mint....but that was in another life:. Now I have returned home to Tennessee where I continue to ply my trade.

Think of the white marble sculptures from ancient Greece and Rome; the elegant white ivory carvings and PORCELAIN which have endured thousands of years down through all the dynasties of Chinese Culture! My pure white porcelain images are just as capable of enduring through the ages same as those classic works, meaning your great-grandchildren might get to chuckle at them in 50 years or so!

My Porcelain Portraits - where usually only one head is showing - are the size of an Olympic medal, meaning three inches in diameter. My more pictorial work (with more than one figure) is usually in a 4 3/4 inch format. I recommend that size for head-to waist depictions, or even for full-length figures. Individual portraits work best at the three inch diameter size. Square and rectangular formats are also possible, but require MUCH more "make-ready" in my studio.

Folks, I've got a bronze relief sculpture in Brookgreen Gardens (SC). I've painted murals for private clubs and local banks; carved hardwood and marble. I have examples of my medals in the Smithsonian, British Museum, and the Royal Swedish Coin Cabinet, but I don't brag about that stuff! My aim is to work with YOU, and to please you as best I can...

Price? Oh, the dreaded PRICE!  Friends, I work cheap. Yes, CHEAP. For all the sculpting and plaster casting and slip-pouring, and firing and cleaning and shipping it WON'T cost you an arm and a leg!  I even graciously give you the pleasure of REJECTING  any work I do; I'll just keep it for myself as a sample).

Oh, yes!  How do you best display these?  Being small reliefs, they need a strong, direct, (but diffused) light from above to reveal the detail.  Try setting them on a small medal-stand (or tiny home-made easel) placed on an end-table, beneath a lamp. With a little bit of adjustment you can determine where the light strikes them best - I have even improvised a small easel out of a clear plastic cup, using only scissors to excavate a nice little place for the porcelain to sit. The clear plastic doesn't detract from the image, and nobody notices that it is sitting on so mundane a thing as a picnic cup!
