Biography 2017

Singer, Songwriter, Master of Ceremonies, Theatre Performer, Graphic Designer, Photographer and Actor –  Jacques Eugene Tomlinson was born in the winter of 1975 in Cape Town. After his parents relocated to Gauteng at a very early age, where he grew up and continued his schooling. After finishing Matric in 1993, he continued to establish the Special Events Department at Xerox SA which led to his successful career in Event Co-Ordination and Graphic Design for a number of years.

It was only much later in life, after a very humbling and happy childhood,  that Jacques was able to properly persue his dreams in the entertainment industry after the bug caught him in the early nineties when he portrayed the lead in Grease and several other small musical productions.

After his sabbatical from the stage, Jacques came back with vengeance as the meek little botanical genius lead role as Seymour Krelborn from Skidrow in amazingly successful production of“The Little Shop of Horrors” which hit the planks in November 2017. His amazing vocal ability blessed him with the role and made audiences fall in love with the character which is Seymour. Stellar performance, alongside a stellar cast.

Recently also co-starring in the successful production of “the Frog Prince” and the Unisa Little Theatre in Pretoria, written and produced by Johan Kleynhans,  opened the doors to this phase in his life giving him the opportunity to follow his dreams and further his entertainment career.

Also a solo artist and part of the duo Untamed, which has him performing with the amazingly talented Emanuel Pietersen (http://www.emanuelpiersen.co.za), Jacques has no lack of experience in the entertainment industry.  His sweet and honest personality makes every person feel welcome and safe.  Coming from a very musical family, Jacques was born to act and perform.

Recent personal life changing tragedies experienced in his life has led to his love for the Support of Cancer being renewed, also getting him involved in the CANSA Relay for Life 2017 where he has already co-emceed a number of events, co-hosting with Mr Emanuel Pietersen, and also performing in front of a great number of people.
