About Me

With his wide range of experience, education and expertise, Alexander Vlad is the founder and creative lead for visual media projects. Educated in Canada, he has studied photography, documentary film making and journalism.

Alex is a literal globetrotter with international roots having lived in Canada, USA, Ireland, England, Romania and now Qatar – his travels have given him invaluable insight into international markets and have given him fodder for an endless array of published and recognizable works across North America.  He has no fear of wading into promising new markets as his industry experience gives him confidence and credibility in these rapidly evolving times.

While shooting, Alex uses technology and lighting to create atmospherics that engage the mind.  He is constantly pushing the boundaries of himself and his equipment.  His defining art form is combining technology, lighting systems and energy to create visual works that are indisputably signature.

Alexander had his first solo exhibition in 2011.  Entitled MIXED SIGNALS, he showcased four unique series of photographs from New York, his work with the music industry, his travels in the Gulf region and urban landscapes from his hometown, Ottawa.  Everything was self-printed on 100% cotton rag paper.
Captivate Creative Studios was established in 2007.

More recently, Alexander was director of photography for the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar.  He also worked for the United Nations during the COP18/CMP8 conference on climate change in Doha as the presidential pavilion photographer.  In both situations he was working in direct contact with royalty, dignitaries and masters of the arts.
