About Me

Started photography about a year ago and have been swimming against the current for a while now.  With constant learning, I have reached a level I didn't think was possible after a year of shooting.  I believe that this business has a lot to do with who you know and how you market yourself.  It is also about the relationships between the muse and the artist.  Briana Shaker from lighting-essentials.com sums it up perfectly when she says "inspiration can be found anywhere, in a face, in nature, or even in a puddle. But like anything worth doing, it is the muse that creates enjoyment for the artist. For the true artist, this enjoyment is found in both the process of creation and in the finished result. Thus the muse has a certain responsibility (well, a live muse has a responsibility, it’s hard to get a puddle to accept responsibility) and that is to inspire her artist positively."

So is it the muse's responsibility to make the artist happy?  Sure it is! But is the photographer the only artist?  No. "The model here is artist too. She creates an illusion and the photog captures that moment and shows the illusion that he saw. Are they the same? Maybe. Does it matter? Nope. What matters is that a model can directly influence both creation and result."

Direction of my photography:
The direction of model photography I want to work on leans towards photos that tell a story.  I haven't quite come close to the level of story telling I want out of my pictures, but I have a few ideas I have yet to try out. i.e.-relationship scenes, sexy sports, staged fights, staged photoshoot, motel girl, water and its opposite, are a few off the top of my head.

To all models:
Let's work together, expand our portfolios at the same time.  When you work with me, I am a totally laid back photographer to work with.  Before our shot, let's meet up, talk over coffee or yogurt for a few minutes.  We'll come up with shots, lighting, and ideas together.  As for now, I tend to simply go with the flow of the day and how the model and I are feeling.  This makes the pictures come out exactly how we felt that day.  I know you have your ideas and I have mine.  Let's see what we make together.
