Mikaela Thunell was born in Borlänge, Sweden to her proud parents. As a child, Mikaela was influenced by her mother’s given creative abilities.

Mikaela learned to cut and sew by the time she was nine, since then she has traveled around the world gaining much inspiration for her designs.

Mikaela studied Social Science at Haga Gynmasiet in Sweden . It was after graduation that Mikaela began to see that she wanted to do something more with her life. By age 19 she traveled around the world and ended up in California where she worked as an Au Pair for a family.  While in California she met a boyfriend that saw her incredible ability to design and create. He was the one that got her to realize how much she loved fashion.

Mikaela decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a fashion designer so she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. Mikaela Graduated with her AA in 2007. Shortly after that she had her first fashion show at Hollywood Fashion week in August 2007.

At FIDM, Mikaela where an honor student even though English is her second language. She is very hard worker and a fast learner. Patterns and sowing came very easy to her.

Living in Southern California she realized that most clothing companies concentrated on beach wear.  It was at that point Mikaela decided she wanted to be in business for herself so that she could pursue the love of designing creative, sexy yet sophisticated styles.

Mikaela loves working with fabrics that have such great quality such as silk, leathers, linens, and other fine fabrics. She is not restricted to working with these fabrics, but they do produce great collections.

When it comes to design, Mikaela knows how to please the fashion forward woman with her cutting edge approach to the current fashion industry. She puts detail and love to all of her pieces and fashion trends. It is important to her that her work reflects the passion she has which drives her to produce garments that are made with the highest quality fabrics, level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.


Thunell is interested in collaborating with all creative types from photographers, videographers, wardrobe stylists, makeup artists, graphic artists, and hair stylists. She interested in booking models for all upcoming photo shoots, fashion shows editorial, and look book shoots. Thunell would love to build a relationship with fashion editors, boutique owners and buyers. She is open to product placement for events, television, and film as well.
