Maribel Carrero was born in New York City. She was raised in the Big Apple where she still resides. As a young child she dreamed of teaching, but when she wasn't playing house or school she was braiding her dolls hair and attempting to cut her little brothers hair. Although she loves children she decided beauty was much more fun and signed herself up at the Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences. In 2003 she graduated and attained her license in cosmetology and soon after began an apprenticeship at the Pipino Salon in midtown Manhattan at the Bryant Park Hotel. It was there that she broke out of her shell and honed her talents and perfected her technique. It wasn't long before she wanted a taste what the tents in the park across the street had to offer. She launched herself into the world of fashion as a freelance artist in 2007. She has gone on to work with several renowned hairstylists including Thomas Hintermeier, Greg Bitterman, Rolando Beauchamp and Franco Gobbi to name a few.

Maribel has worked during New York fashion week for Nicole Miller, Erin Fetherston, Laura Dawson, Rosa Cha, Hugo Boss, Vera Wang, Reem Akra,  Armani Exchange, John Bartlett, Phillip Lim, Patricia Fields, Manuel, TSE, Valentino, Calvin Klein and many more. In addition to her experience with New York Fashion week she has also worked with Numero, Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Black Book, Hamptons, Deutsch, WWD, Hercules, , Lord & Taylor, Macys, Target, Wella, Victoria Secret, Banana Republic.
