I have been pursuing photography semi-seriously since 2004, focusing mainly on candid or live concert photography.

I do not have a defined "style," although I am fascinated by individual parts - hands, eyes, and the like. I admire the work of Ansel Adams, Gregory Heisler, Herb Ritts, Scott Church, and Kyle Cassidy, among others, as well as art from folks such as Norman Rockwell, Alfons Mucha, the Hildebrandt brothers, and Stephanie Law.

While still considering myself a beginner, I am an enthusiastic learner. I put high priority on the comfort of the people I work with; a high-stress shooting environment is never on the plan, and I will not hesitate to use my quirky sense of humor to diffuse a stressful situation.

For the moment, I work TFP or TFCD; this means I regretfully do not have the budget to pay the people I would love to work with. If you are looking for portfolio-building work and are willing to collaborate with a beginner, I would be thrilled to work with you. I do not have a studio of my own if studio time is needed, but can rent one with enough notice to allow for the cost.

I do my best to get selected edited files (web and print-ready) to my subject within a week of a shoot, if not sooner. If I cannot provide a CD immediately, I will mail it or provide a zipfile for later download. Please do not expect RAW files out-of-hand; I do not provide them except in very specific instances.

I am willing to experiment with several styles of photography, including artistic/tasteful nudes where the model is comfortable doing so. My availability is limited by a day job and some family commitments; however, I will do my best to accomodate. I have access to shooting locations in northern Virginia, but am willing to take a day or weekend trip when time and budget allows. Drop me a line at [email protected] and we can discuss specifics.
