About Me

Born and raised in the boredom borderlands of the London Borough of Bromley, where the animals roam free of their cages, I draw and paint for escapism but sometimes to keep me grounded. I have done artwork for the mighty WU-TANG CLAN through INSPECTAH DECK (Urban Icon Records, New Jersey), MASTA KILLA (Nature Sounds records, Brooklyn) and TIMBO KING (Fort Knox). More recently I have had work comissioned for legendary underground Hip-Hop label BABYGRANDE RECORDS. My artwork features on the cover of 9th Prince from Wu-Tang Killarmy's album...'Prince Of N.Y' and California emcee Odious' excellent 'Gather Around' release. Currently I am working closely with Wu-Tang mastermind The RZA and Killarmy's Kinetic/Beretta9 on RZAs new Bobby Digital project; 'DigiSnacks'.
I have done a range of paintings of glamorous ladies who look like they have just stepped off the catwalk but instead are placed in settings local to me and in activities associated with myself or people in my area. Examples exhibited are the girl drinking and smoking on a grey day on an Orpington housing estate, probably driven to it through sheer suburban monotany and 'Ken's Cosmic Oyster Girl' who elegantly waits for the bus, OyterCard in hand, with her bags of shopping from the local supermarket. The fun of painting is that while I have a basis of a story for the picture I want the viewer to reach their own conclusions or create their own events for the characters. Most paintings or music I really enjoy probably weren't created with the same intentions of feeling, theme or meaning as I have interpreted them, this is what makes someone elses work personal to you. This said, the clues are definately there, notice the girl on the estates bloodied knuckles or the gun hidden amongst the flowers in the gloved hand of the girl gazing into the boutique window.

In late 2006 I completed 'The Book Of Dead Children' which explores my interpretations of local folklore, myths and stories aswell as my own thoughts and actual happenings.  The book is displayed in its entirety at http://WWW.BODC.CO.UK.
