Martin set out as a photographer form age 14 shooting his surf buddies, as kids growing up in on the North Shore of Oahu, Martin launched his first job for Surfer Magazine, in 1979. Shooting editorial for the USA Pro Surf Tour. He was 19 years old. During that tour Martin was discovered by fashion photographer Bruce Weber, who photographed him for Details Magazine. He's been shooting fashion ever seance. Martin started shooting for Italian Bazaar at the age of 22 in New York, then on to Milan, Paris, and eventually settling in Los Angeles. He shot hundreds of pages of editorials and campaigns seen by millions of north Americans and Europeans in publications and on billboards, bus tails, and subway walls.

Kyle now lives in
the most beautiful high desert landscape Imaginable nearvJoshua Tree CA. He is retired commercialy but still does paid fashion shoots in his massive boulders location.
