About Me

I am a commercial film director and producer in my professional life, and I love shooting photography as a way to have a little more balance in my creative life.  I love portraiture, and I would say that all of my work boils down to portraiture in some form.

I produced a supernatural feature film last year entitled Confessions Of An Exorcist, and next year I will be directing and producing a dramatic feature entitled New Americans, a story about a Congolese refugee who comes to America in 2017.  Link below:

The models in my work are typically muses in my life, so shooting for me is a commitment for both the muse and myself.  The strength of my work comes from that dynamic.

Things that influence me or my work:  magicians, mystics, baptism imagery, scars, triumph of any kind, the open road, doorways, riding in cars, country roads, thunderstorms, boardwalks, my animals companions, Pilates, meditation, jazz, opera, dance of all forms, carnivals, street people, bicycles, clementines in the winter, ripe persimmons, John Cage, grumpy cab drivers, and pirates.

My focus is on portraits.  I shoot a lot of video installations influenced by Warhol and Yoko Ono.  My interests in fine art photography are mostly non-commercial with the exception of shooting gallery stills/bts on my film sets.  I also shoot non-linear mini-docs on various people I love, ie. Taylor Mead (Warhol Actor/Beat Poet/East Village Icon) and Debbie Doebereiner (Soderburgh's Film, Bubble)

Feel free to ask me any questions.  I usually compensate models with a print and I will shoot a session for you (of you) that you take at the end of the shoot to do with as you wish.  Of course, this is negotiable.  Thank you for looking!
