Vaute Couture is an ethical fashion house started in Chicago and relocated to NYC. We love working with both talented emerging & fresh experienced artists to create something together.

Named 1 of 40 Redefining Green, Leanne has been featured on the cover of VegNews Magazine, and chosen as one of the best new green designers of 2009. Vaute Couture has been named Company of the Year (2010), Fashion Company of the Year (Peta2), and the vaute Coat was named 1 of the best coats by Chicago Magazine, as well as won the Apex Design Award by Polartec.

Founder Leanne Hilgart spent a year developing the first line of high style, ethics, and function outerwear, for being lovely inside then out, during the season in Chicago we call winter, winter, and yes, more winter. We have been featured on TeenVogue, Oprah.com, NBC, FOX Tv's Bones (Emily Deschanel has 4 Vaute Couture coats!), and have fans including Alicia Silverstone, Zooey Deschanel, Ally Sheedy (the Breakfast Club), and Ginnifer Goodwin.

We also create couture, tees, and art collections.
