About Me

***UPDATE 2017:  If you receive a friend request from me, it's not that I'm being presumptuous.  You are no longer permitted to send messages to non-friends unless you have a premium account and I have a message for you sitting in my outbox that I'd like to share with you!***

I've always liked taking pictures (they're memories!), but I became a little more serious about it when I embarked on a cross-country road trip back in 2005.  I bought my first digital camera and took many scenic pictures (which will one day line the walls of my home), mainly of landscapes, but also landmarks, animals and various miscellaneous things mixed in.  I've continued since, dabbling in it as a hobby (you may see these at the portfolio link above).

I always wanted to branch out into people (even though they can be a lot less cooperative than landscapes that don't move or complain, haha) but never had the opportunity.  I actually tried once before to open a profile here with two pictures I had taken, 1 guerilla style of two people that intruded on my landscape portrait but looked awesome in frame (1st pic in my portfolio now) and 1 self-portrait (my profile pic), but wasn't deemed worthy of admission to MM.

A year or so later, I was helping some friends on a music video and was originally asked to take candid behind the scene shots but was later asked to take glamour shots of the singer.  Those pictures are what finally allowed me to join this site.

This translates as, while I have a good eye for framing and poses, I don't have a studio, a bunch of (or any) fancy lighting kits, or a budget.  The indoor sets were provided and the outdoor ones I utilized what was in the surrounding area.  Since it was a music video, the singer already had hair, make-up and wardrobe provided.

That said, the most mutually symbiotic experience would probably be for this novice photographer to work with beginner models, learning and growing together.  This way, we can collaborate, discover what kind of pictures you're interested in and what back drops we may be able to find to enhance them.  I'm open to all the genres except "runway," "sports" and "stunts" because I don't think my camera can handle poorly lit or action shots, and I don't have gear for "underwater."  You'd have to provide your own wardrobe, hair and make-up.  We'd utilize natural lighting.  And Trade Your Time For a CD of Pictures.  As I'd be adding them to my portfolio, you'd have to be okay with signing a release which I'd email you beforehand.

As you can see from my pictures here, my experience is with females.  I'm more attuned to the aesthetic beauty of the female form, so it would probably work best to work with females first and as I find my footing, to later branch out and include everyone.

On a side note, I'm working on a T-shirt line of mock game boards providing a humorous twist for nostalgic grown-ups, 2 of which have been released, the others still pending.  The final one, a take on Candy Land, is "Eye Candy."  The graphics are cartooned but I need reference models, which would require tasteful Maxim/FHM style nudity.  If it’s something you may be interested in, there’s more information as well as sketches of the poses at http://www.frederickwilliamspringeriii.com/Tshirtinfoandsamples.html  The actual site for the T-shirts themselves can be found at http://www.BoredGamesBrandBoardGames.com/
