. My name is Amanda and I have been a make up artist for years, but it hasn’t been until recently that I have taken my make up obsession to the next level.  I have created my own business as well as sharpened up my make up and hair styling skills with schooling through the renowned make up academy at Blanch Macdonald.

VO: My make up obsession started out when I was in high school, which is about the same time I started modeling, acting and playing in bands. Being in the entertainment industry I would always get my make up done, weather it be for a calendar shoot, a band promo shoot, on screen for a commercial, or when I was in the Miss Vancouver pageant. I would sit there and ask the artist questions about what they were doing so I would know how re-create the look on my own time. I would ask about the product, the color and the procedure to put it on. But I wasn’t always so lucky to get great make up artist, so I started to bring my own make up and tools, just in case I didn’t like what they did and run into the bathroom to do my own touch ups. From then on I  started doing make up on my mom and my friends. People always told me, why aren’t you a make up artist? but I was always to busy being in front of the camera until now. I still act and sing in my own band, but I’ve also now gone behind the camera and created Amanda’s Make up.
