About Me

Chip is a dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac. In addition to lying awake at night wondering if there is a Dog, he is always searching for answers to the deeper questions in life such as: why does talking about himself in the 3rd. person make him sound like a pretentious pinhead?

Ok, enough silliness (for now).

I've been shooting professionally since the late 80's, primarily producing product and jewelry imagery for catalogs and commercial clients. I specialize in, and enjoy the challenge of, solving difficult-to-light problems. So what's that got to do with beauty, fashion, figure work, or the modeling side of photography in general? Meh, there's some overlap, but not much. I shoot these genres as a creative outlet and for the chance to interact with things other than widgets, necklaces, and gizmos. I'm looking to network with fellow creatives who know how to act professionally, treat others with respect, and are passionate about what they do. I don't take myself too seriously, like to make shooting a pleasant experience for everyone, and above all have fun.

I have a studio in Baltimore that I share with Mike Pennington (MM # 675971). Together, we run a meetup group in the Baltimore area dedicated to beauty, fashion, and boudoir photography. Check it out here:  We also offer a number of workshops and private, invite only events covering a range of topics: introductory and advanced studio lighting, the fine art figure nude, beauty and fashion, etc. Contact us if you're interested in receiving more information or participating as a model.

Given that there are just so many hours in a day, days in the week, etc. I only have time for a limited amount of TFP. I have several long term themes and projects that I'm working on and if you have a look that dove-tails with an area of interest I'll let you know. Ditto if you have a concept you want to shoot that piques my interest. I offer reasonable rates for beauty, fashion, and editorial work suitable for comp cards, print portfolio update, and the like.

With regards to shooting, I'm accustomed to working with professionals on a regular basis. Although modeling isn't a full-time gig for many, it doesn't excuse unprofessional behavior. If you schedule to shoot with me I expect you to correspond in a timely fashion, respect everyone's time, and follow through. In other words, don't flake. And on the occasion that you do flake, don't lie about it. I'd prefer you be honest and up front. If I had a quarter for every time I've heard about car trouble, sick relatives, or car trouble on the way to visit sick relatives I'd be writing this from my private jet and drinking fresh unicorn tears. =B^O

About friend requests: My friends list consists of people I've worked with, know personally, or with whom I've had more than a casual conversation. On a site full of flakes, mouth-breathers, and peeps who feel like they "gots to represent" it is my way of recognizing professionalism, integrity, and character. I'm not trying to win the "who has the most friends on The Mayhem" contest. That said, please send a FR (or a tag or email) if you're interested in working with me. Just don't take it personally if I don't add you until after we've worked together, or had some form of conversation.
