About Me

Prior to committing myself to technical writing and photography, I was involved with shooting, directing, producing, and writing videos for clients such as IBM, AT&T, Major League Baseball, Entertainment Tonight, Financial News Network, and Dudley-Anderson-Yutzey. My documentary film, Louie was broadcast on PBS. Among my honors, I was Director of Photography for the Emmy-award winning American Cities Against Drugs and recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant. I was also Technical Director for choreographer Merce Cunningham's Deli Commedia, which was broadcast on PBS's Great Performances.

Couple of things about my passion for photography. I prefer models who bring something to the table aside from just a great face or body. Having had some experience working with actors, it’s a plus when the model can do improvisation. (I set the scene and you work with it.) My experience with Merce Cunningham afforded me the opportunity to appreciate body shaping and gestures. Hence, if you can dance we have a common language.

It’s about the eyes; they should reflect an inner-life, portraying something unique about the person and the goal of the scene.

I love to play around with lighting and am more familiar with hot lights than strobes so I generally take a bit more time in the setup.  I shot film with a special appreciation for Kodak’s Ektar 100 and Porta 160 VC. Then in mid-August 2012, I went over to the dark side and am now discovering digital photography.

I'd like to build my portfolio and am willing to devote my time to compelling ideas. Message me if you have something in mind.
