About Me

I started shooting when I was about 10, black and white photos and a school darkroom. I was not an avid shooter due to cost and impatience, until my 30's, when I built my own darkroom so I did not have to wait for developing. It still wasn't a love affair, though. Then came the computer graphics revolution, and I was hooked. I got interested in all kinds of Photoshop manipulations, as well as straight retouching from mild to extreme. I love fantasy and pinup styles, but am open to most anything.
I found myself looking at life as if it were an image. I sometimes even imagine I can see light flow, more like a liquid than anything. I switched to digital cameras, and then DSLR cameras, and have been happily shooting anything that holds even remotely still. I have been working with lighting, and know that I have a lot of practice still to go. For the last few years I have been mostly studying the correct (and incorrect) ways to use flash. My lighting kit is constantly evolving, and I hope in the coming year to add underwater shoots once I build enough equipment to do this. My most recent addiction is medium format photography - something about those big old cameras appeals to me. I'm also working with aerial shots, from a quad rotor (video and stills). Since I moved last year I now have a proper sized shooting space (An RV garage with air conditioning, a must for Phoenix).

I am interested in all sorts of images - basically I'll shoot just about any concept you might have, or work to expand an idea into something amazing. I'm always wanting to learn new techniques and add new skills. I am starting to teach myself bodypainting, and hope to do some shoots in that genre soon. If you have odd ideas you want to try, let me know. I am creative, relaxed, and low key. Email is best - feel free to send me something. You can catch me here, or at [email protected]
