Today I am giving up on model photography.

I have been a faithful user and supporter of Model Mayhem for several years now, but the time has come to say goodbye. I cannot say that it has been all good or bad, but it is now at a tipping point for me. There are several reasons for this but among them are:

1. The declining number of ACTIVE models on here. I know that MM says that they have 800,000+ members, but nowhere NEAR that number are still around.

2. There are just too few models that are really interested. You contact a model and IF she responds, there is no guarantee that she will ever follow up on the primary response.

3. No shows. This is my personal major complaint. It is just plain rude to not show up and the lack of professionalism shown is appalling.

I have about 3 scheduled shoots left which I will fulfill, but then I am most likely done. I am not saying I would never shoot again, because never is just too broad, but I think I am heading back to nature photography. Trees are not prima donnas.
