I have always enjoyed creating from writing to drawing and painting. I entered Colby-Sawyer College to study graphic design and found a love for photography. I continue to enjoy working in these mediums. I find that life is all about perspectives, in the realm of photography this also holds true. I am always looking for the most interesting way to capture my subjects; to find my perspective.

My vision has developed over the years. I began taking photographs in 2001. Initially, I worked with film in the dark room. Today, I work completely digital. The advantages of the instantaneous viewing of my work has changed the way I take photos on both technical and creative levels. With film I was limited to how many frames were on my roll of film, now I shoot without worrying about running out of frames. Despite the medium, the vision stays the same.

My main creative focus is photography. I shoot conceptual planned work as well as events and landscapes, where the elements are not under my control. I enjoy working with models and creating fine art photography, but I also enjoy capturing the candid and unplanned such as the first kiss at a wedding. Photography is a medium that allows me to stop time, whether it is to capture a family memory or a stylized pose this is my tool to capture the essence of people and the special moments of their lives.

As a photographer I also create self portraits, not to be confused with selfies, where I try on different personas and experiment with makeup and lighting effects. Self portraits allow me to play dress up as an adult, challenge myself to be a team of one, provide other side of the camera experience, as well as seeing myself in a different light. I fully understand how empowering it is to have a strong portrait.
