About Me

Hello and thank you for visiting!
Current openings for 2021 (otherwise I'm usually available in Spokane/north Idaho)

My rate for shooting model portfolio images or content for subscription based sites in United States while I'm traveling is $100 (USD) per shoot for 1 hour to 4 hours. $200 for 4.5 hours to 8 hours. I bring my cameras, artistry, undivided attention and professionalism. At end of shoot, I transfer all images (both RAW and jpg) on thumbdrive to person hiring me. Locations and transportation between multiple locations are to be provided by person hiring me. If you'd like to hire me to edit selections from our shoot, figure $10 (USD) for each of your selected photos.

I'm planning for photography and filming (music video and art film) excursions to Finland, Norway, Sweden, France and Iceland.

2018 was a good year filled with study and creative growth. December brought my first magazine publication and my first few print sales. Those were encouraging! My priorities for 2019 were creating for print and making editorial /photo story sets for magazine submissions. I've sent 13 sets to magazines so far and was published each time (242 photographs).
My priorities for 2021 are creating for print, filming music videos, making a couple art films and making editorial /photo story sets for magazine submissions.

I'm receptive to traveling to Oregon, Washington, Idaho and/or western Montana to collaborate.

I occasionally hire artistically inclined traveling models to shoot in northern Idaho between May and September for a full day (8 hours) outdoors or a half day (4 hours) if I am inspired by what I think can be achieved in the marketplace with photographs made by hiring. There are a couple of Spokane photographers who I can conscientiously recommend.

I started focusing on model photography September 2017 as a series of exercises for my cinematography without larger cast and crew on location. I have had 70 cast members in frame while shooting and directing scenes and model photography is really good practice. I enjoyed the first day out in the wilderness with MUA and two models and decided to continue. So far, I've done 128 shoots being really subjective about seeing where to study/improve while editing between each shoot and I have chosen 3 directions I will continue going.

I enjoy writing (short stories, film scripts, grants, press releases for arts centers & theaters and biographies and promotional materials for other artists). I sometimes compose - so far I've created music for 12 ballets, 4 plays, 16 films, 4 TV shows, 2 documentaries and 4 audio books. I've performed original piano music since 1986 as a solo musician and with dancers and I occasionally collaborate as a recording artist with other artists scattered all around the planet. I am currently working on material for a new solo album (will be my 4th commercially available and my 13th independent).

I have been a filmmaker (writer, director, cinematographer and editor) for 7 years. I've been working on a post apocalyptic film series (5 features) for a couple years and I make 2 or 3 short films each year; partially for the instant gratification of getting screenings & IMDb credits and partially because I love writing short stories and doing things with them. Am almost finished writing a romantic comedy feature. I'm nearing production for a dark fable story set in the year 1609. I'm beginning to make conceptual music videos.

I'm easy to work with and very experienced expressing ideas and making adjustments. Although I make sure to be prepared with plenty of specific images to shoot and I have an imagery journal with me 24/7, I know the value of exploring and working with ideas/concepts thought of by those who I work with. If we are on location and you have ideas, I'll certainly shoot them.

I'll always edit and email TFP models a few photos right away (usually same evening of each shoot if shoot is near my studio) but I like to really think about edits for a day before getting into them. I upload (sized down versions of) entire shoot to Dropbox and send link to model(s) to choose from. If we shoot 500 photos and you love 30 or 100, I will edit the ones that you choose and send those. I believe that it is important for a model to be able to have digital copy of the entire shoot, not to inundate their social media with variations on the same theme which is never a good idea but I give entire shoot to model(s) for their memory and also so that they can learn for their future shoots.

When I am traveling, it is not always possible to edit photos until I return to my studio although I can batch resize an entire shoot (unedited) in Photoshop and send via Dropbox if my hotel or Airbnb has good wifi.

Images that will be submitted for publication will be given to TFP model as a hard copy until publication requirements are fulfilled; afterwards, digital will be provided.

If you are a TFP model with a Patreon (or some other sort of subscription based) page,  I can shoot a few or several documentary style sets with context/story that could be useful to you in exchange for helping me with my ideas. I just ask that I'm credited for what I do. My film making and writing experiences lend themselves to shooting interesting photo sets pretty much off the cuff. For documentary style sets, unless something is pretty darn spectacular, I just color correct and maybe do some ambient adjustments and then upload the lot of them to Dropbox and text or email a link.

I encourage bringing an escort for first shoots with TFP models. Especially someone who can help with light and doesn't distract. If your escort would be well suited, we'd definitely incorporate them into an idea or two and certainly snap a couple fun mementos.

Although I tend to prefer to shoot one on one, especially outdoors where getting to multiple locations can take quite enough time, I do have a makeup artist and a couple model friends who help depending on the project.

I maintain a no contact policy. If you are female and your wardrobe, hair or items near you need to be adjusted, I'll talk you, your escort or a female assistant through it. If you are male, I'll talk you through it.

I'm reliable, adventurous, I do what I say and I value other people's time. I ask the same of anyone who I create with. I've been creating publicly for 33 years and my name, reputation and image are very important to me. I know that yours are very important to you also.

I offer safe, patient, educational and collaborative shooting experiences for newer models and imagination for experienced models.

I don't charge to shoot and edit if you have interesting ideas and would like to model my ideas too. When I do TFP, it's usually as a study towards something challenging for my improvement and for material to maintain social media. I prefer to focus at least some of each shoot on either creating print worthy images to sell and/or putting sets together to send off for magazine submission.

The great outdoors is always a resounding yes and I have a love for old buildings.

If you'd like to create with me, send a message. I respond in the evenings.

"Allen James Teague and I have been shooting for over a year solid. Over this past year my experience with bringing ideas to life and seeing possibilities in environment has increased tremendously due to this man. He has helped me expand my horizons and to find the joy in trying new things. Teague had incredible patience with me when we first started together. I had not modeled for 12 months and he understood and knew how to help me find my way. The dedication this man puts into his photography and his art Is beautiful. There is an abundance of communication with him that seems so rare nowadays. He will gladly answer any questions you have with consideration and sincerity. I tell you what, there is only one Allen James Teague and I am very glad not only that I get to create with him so often, but that I have his work and name in my portfolio. I would recommend Teague through and through to anyone wanting to expand their creativity." Read less
