Medical Update:
update 3/18/22:
Had the bone-marrow biopsy done this morning. Hopefully this tells them whether or not we continue on my treatment. I won't know 'til next week.

update 3/09/11:
Treatments are temporarily stopped. Other medical issues have delayed my chemotherapy, and we've had to halt the oral medications as well. More bloodwork, and another biopsy is being scheduled.

update 2/11/11:
Finally got started on treatments. UCSF has been testing me the past couple of weeks to see if I qualify for a specific trial treatment that turns off certain genes in the cancer cells. Unfotunately, I don't have the specific mutation they were testing for, so they put me on a different trial. This other one still shows a lot of promise, but has a lot more side effects that you see with the standard treatments that everyone knows about. So, I should expect to be tired a lot, lose my hair (I don't really have any in the first place), nausea, etc.

I'm going to try to keep going with my photography, but understand that I may tire out quickly.

update 1/15/11:
Slowly recovering from surgery.
They had to remove a large tumor from my chest.
Turns out it is, indeed, cancer, even though all prior biopsies showed it as benign.
Getting a few more tests done, then going to be going to UCSF for treatment.
Not sure when I'll be getting back to shooting.

update 12/22/10:
I am having surgery on the 27th of December to remove the mass in my chest. I will not be shooting for a couple of months in order to recover. Any correspondence you may try to have with me may go unanswered for a while as well.

::About Me::
Hello, and thanks for looking at my portfolio. I go by Aryx, which is pronounced as erics, (it's short for and a respelling of Eric S). I am a hobbyist photographer based in the Central Valley of California. My home is my studio. I like to keep things simple, and you will see very little editing in my shots. I do have a pet peeve about spelling.

::Where is Stockton?::
Stockton is smack dab in the middle of California. We're about an hour east of San Francisco, and about 45 minutes south of Sacramento.

::Model Experience::
I like to work with both new and experienced models. With new models, I like to talk and teach and in other ways let you know a little bit about how the photography/modeling world plays. With experienced models, collaboration and spontineity is the key! I work with ALL ages.

::Future Photo Project Ideas::

Looking for females (no modeling experience needed) to pose for a simple topless portrait for a breast awareness project that I need to get started. The images will be displayed in a gallery, and will have phrases on the images, like, "When do you tell your daughter about breast cancer?" or "What she doesn't know about breast cancer can kill her."
Also looking for women who have survived breast cancer, but may have had a partial or full mastectomy, or other surgery to the breast. These are also topless portraits, and are also going to have phrases, like, "Gina, breast cancer survivor for 7 years."
Mother-daughter, and grandmother-mother-daughter shots are also welcome.
This is not for MM.

-clothes designers' pieces: I would like to work with clothes designers so I can hire models to shoot them in your work!

-anything alternative (punk, goth, emo, cosplay, full body hair or completely shaved, any age, any race, piercings, tats, etc)
