About Me
Greetings to Everyone... I am John Caspers and this is The Devil's Diner. Hope You see something on the menu that You like. And no, I'm not into the occult, it's just a catchy name. I have been willing however, to sell my soul for a few fantastic images. I've been a photographer and artist since high school. In the last few years I've done almost every kind of photography there is; wedding, children's, family, even food photography for mail order catalogues. Without a doubt though, my favorite photography is glamour and portraiture. I'm always interested in finding new faces for projects and am happy to work with seasoned and newbie models that are RELIABLE. I enjoy shooting on location and find it a bit more cinematic, which appeals to my inner director. I have considered opening a studio but do YOU really want to pay for all that overhead ?.. because I'm not going to, LoL.
When working with me I will make every effort to keep things fresh. Too many photographers rely on using that one "Bag of Tricks" repeatedly. While I don't use a lot of equipment, I do have a large collection of modern & vintage props at my disposal. Really though, I rely on the model, more than props or location, to help create a mood that hopefully will transfer to the picture. Less is more, except of course, when it isn't... Feel you need a nice glossy layer of photoshop applied to every image before they're "finished"? Then I'm probably not your guy. I do use it, but wonder why some photographers spend more time editing than shooting... If we work together, I want to make You shine. I want to photograph You for a reason. Let's explore the something about You that is special. Everything else is secondary... Many photographers & models have myriad shoot stipulations. Well, here's my laundry list up front: I ALWAYS request that you sign a release. If you are a minor, I will only work with you after I have a release signed by a parent or guardian. If You are a minor, please don't ask me to shoot anything less than bathing suits. Simply said, be professional. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. Don't tell me when I'm already waiting, that you have to cancel-24 hours notice is appreciated and "no shows" are not. It can be hard to tell from a profile, but I'm pretty easy to work with. Be a part of my creative process and You will be treated very fairly. Please don't act like royalty as my ego is big enough for the both of us... If shooting TF, I will provide images for You of the best shots from the shoot. This may be 3 or 4 quality images or it may be more. The final amount will depend on many variables (our shoot chemistry, the weather, etc.). I'm happy to discuss ideas for a shoot, but I don't storyboard them out. Sometimes a shoot branches off in an unplanned direction and it benefits the project... In general, I have had rotten luck allowing the escort "thing". It's hard to explain, but bringing your manager slash boyfriend is usually the quickest route to a difficult shoot. Some models may love to spend time like this, however, I don't. And sorry girls, but boyfriends who border on pathological, aren't "just concerned" about You, LoL. I do respect the desire to be cautious, but unless you are a minor, we have to talk on an individual basis if you want someone else present. If You get that nervous around new people, why model anyway? It's kind of like being a surgeon that won't operate if there's blood. Of course, I do have model references available on request... Occasionally, I will use a female makeup artist to change your look a bit. Don't take it as an insult. It's all good. I also ask for a short meeting or, at the very least, a phone conversation with any new model I work with, before shooting. This is not a "pretend date" for me but rather a mutually beneficial check that everyone involved is "on the same page". And yes, it helps keep my "flake" average down, too. During my time here on MM I have worked with some truly amazing models and I would like to Thank them for sharing their Beauty, Creativity & Professionalism with me. I am happy to provide, with request, my PROFESSIONAL observations of any MM members I have had dealings with. For now, I'm still shooting without charge, area models I am interested in working with. If you think you have the "stuff," contact me and perhaps we can plan something. Thanks and kudos for reading through this really long profile. If making a Friend Request, please remember You must also tag me or comment on my port before I accept. We can't network without a dialogue. On a final note, recently I have fielded some questions regarding another local photographer who, showing the utmost creativity, "adopted" much of my MM Profile as his own. Let me say that I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated with MM member #1263684. Verified Credits (0)Worked with The Devils Diner? Share your experience and become verified! Add Credits
