About Me

Port updated May 2023 added some examples of my artwork I created using reference pics from photo shoots.

Summer 2023: I'm looking to work with some new models on a variety of concepts including...

- Bride-of Frankenstein Pin-up Body Paint
- 1950's type pin-ups of: Cowgirls or Sexy Firefighter or Naughty Housewife
- "Totally Worth It" Siren shoot
- Angelic/Devil Pin-Up in the clouds
- Keyhole Vignette Pin-Ups
- Killer "Dolly"
- PLUS I'm always open to other's ideas, and doing concept swaps with models!

As my portfolio shows, I am an artist, illustrator and photographer that likes to combine all of those skills to create unique, eye-catching and just plain fun images. I've got a home studio in Westbrook, Maine I prefer to shoot in, and in that studio I've got two racks of costumes and tons of accessories to make ANYTHING a possibility!

As an artist and a photographer, I tend to take my main inspirations from comic books as well as American and European grindhouse underground movies from the 70's and 80's. Many of my final images would fit right in on a 1980's video store shelf as the cover of a VHS tape.

I've always been attracted to the dirty, wild and gratuitous films from the likes of Jess Franco, Roger Corman, Lloyd Kaufman and H.G. Lewis. While they were trying to titillate and shock viewers, there is also a fun tongue in cheek attitude behind their art. Models that have worked with me know that despite the "dark" nature of some of my work, I'm actually a very light hearted and laid back photographer that's always prepared. If it isn't fun, why do it?

When creating my images, I prefer using extreme lighting, angles, and colors. I'll leave the subtlety to other photographers. My artistic goal is to create images to show at various lowbrow art galleries, which I have done on a regular basis. I am also currently working on an art/comic/photo book and many of my current photo shoots will contribute to this book.

I also have recently been mixing body paint with my photography.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you haven't already, check out my port. If you like those images, and wanna model for me, just send me a message and we'll chat!

"This was my first "creepy" shoot and I wasn't sure what to expect...but Dr. E Payne had a plan and had me feeling comfortable and creepy in no time....I love that he mixes medias and puts his art into his photos to make them unique. The fact that I am now in "the movies" doesn't hurt either....basically Dr. Payne was anything but a pain. Thank you for the fun and interesting shoot and photos... :)" Read less
