About Me
There are a lot of reasons (some more obvious than others) why I have been occupying myself with photography. There is a serious interest in technique, as well as an admiration for photographers who have proven to be very good at what they do. I still have no answer to the question whether photography is either an art or a craft. I've seen so many photographers who have plenty of creativity but a lame technique. They deliver results that are not less of a disappointment than images that give proof of great technique, but lack creativity and mystery. The more I stand in front of a lens the more I realize that standing behind the lens requires aptitude and dare, creativity and substance, self criticism and integrity. Features that aren't possessed with ease, and are even harder to combine. It is those elements I find in work of photographers I work with. But every person finds his own balance, in his own tempo.
A great sense of ego and maybe even idleness are practically undeniable. So I won't even bother. In photography I find a way to express myself. I find posing as confronting as speaking in front of a very large group of people. In that sense I really found social strength in an activity that mostly involves a very personal group of people, what really marks the dual charachter of photography. Photography has contributed enormously to my self positioning and affirmation, mentally as wel as physically, personally as well as socially. I have encountered a lot inspiring people, who master one of the most underestimated crafts of the last decades. I'm greatful for the experiences and lessons I have learned in the last few years, and I hope to put some of the techniques I picked up in practice soon. Credits for make-up artists too. I found a missed opportunity in working as a MU-artist and placed aspirations elsewhere. I love to work with fine artists because they -again- give me the opportunity to learn several techniques and styles along the way.. ![]() Modelling has been a gate to another world, one that provided me with a bunch of other perspectives on life. Visual dimensions are always brief. To me, being able to catch a beautiful moment in time and thought is one of the most glorious achievements of man. I hope you all enjoy what this blog brings... I hope to catch more glimpses of the glory and mystery of photography along my way. **Came here to look around, expand my network and internationally expose my work.** ![]() Student @ University of Antwerp (Sociology of work) Would like to update my portfolio with strong material, exploring new styles and creating opportunities ![]() This is what I love to do in my freetime..
