I’m a photographer and I shoot men being barefoot. Simple. Not much to it, really.

I have a strong appreciation for men’s fashion and have a preference for outdoor lifestyle shots with natural light, so this shines through in all my photos. I actually do a variety of photography styles but noticed that when working with male photo subjects, many are OK being barefoot in photos to a degree, but are absolutely terrified of having any sort of “focus” on their feet whatsoever…

I suspect this might have something to do with them wanting to avoid any assumed fetish-type affiliations, but I always thought this was silly when other G-rated body parts with a strong fanbase in fetish circles (armpits, nipples, etc.) don’t face nearly the same level of stigma.

So I started this photo art project as a social commentary of sorts - wanting to gain insight into the visceral reaction people have and to challenge the cultural narrative with my photos of models simply *existing* barefoot. No awkward cropping or blurring. No sexual overtones. Just photogenic men being themselves, but being themselves with no shoes on. Simple. And as a side effect if it helps start conversations on cultural attitudes or even men's health, I'm here for it.
