Hello, my name is Carl Farmer and I am a Fellow of the Irish Photographic society and the founder member of Red Tree Studio. I have been involved in the photographic scene in Ireland since 2008 and I have always been interested in imagery (both still and moving)... I have a large range of interests and influences including photography, film, music, culture, art and these have culminated into the work I do in Red Tree Studio now.

My style of photography is probably a little outside of the normal main stream, I concentrate my efforts mainly on staged studio and location shoots using models with a more edgy look but I'm not limited to this this. I am interested in the Gothic genre and I like to use locations to try to bring out the vulnerable side of a model whilst set in a very harsh environment. I like to try and setup a shot with a look and feel of a location that is intimidating and imposing set with a juxtaposition of a beautiful model.

Photography for me is a hobby, I am lucky enough to have a job which allows me time to explore my creative side outside of work. I find myself learning new skills everyday and trying to shape my own style and outlook on life into a cohesive and creative story. I am currently working from a couple of different locations including a disused amusement arcade, an old hotel built in the late 1800's and Red Tree Studio. I want to work with lots of different models, makeup artists and creative people to see what we can achieve...
