September 16, 2009 10:02am this gets a high mark- we lose his face completely because of his dismay. good choice. the arm reaching out who's tattoo reiterates the binding of vines all along his figure, really plays out a story of struggle yet conviction to break through. is he sinking in quick sand? are the vines alive and tugging him back into harm's way? really beautiful.
