July 05, 2009 8:48am ha, the phrase "very painterly" was a phrase often used in art critiques when people didn't know what else to say about the work being spoken about.
Thank you for the complement though. I thought I'd share my personal associations with that phrase because it brought back so many memories of an oil painting class I took.
