July 21, 2009 10:56pm The expression is just wild. The pale nature of the skin with the grain of the wood really sells this for me. The use of depth of field really pulls the image to the center - the shadows lining up nicely with the light pushing in from off camera just off in this distance is some great symmetry. The use of the human form is some-how mysterious while maintaining grace.
