Thank you for your comments.
This remains one of my all time favorite images. Where ever you move in the room this mans eyes will follow.
I sat next to this Gentleman for 40 hours on a train from Bamako in Mali to Dakar in Senagal.

The story behind this photo is interesting. A girl was thrown off the train because she did not have sufficient money for the ticket and was in tears on the platform surrounded by her baggage. So I donated some US dollars to get her back on the train. Through an interprator, this man said that was a kind thing I did and he said I could take his picture. In that part of the world a lot of people do not like their photographs taken. This man was as clean and debonair when he stepped off the train. He was an Imam and it was obvious the man was a special person.

I would love to give the man a copy of his picture.

I love shots that make you sit there, stare, and think...or at least attempt to imagine what's going on/what's in the mind of the individual. The eyes..are they full of sorrow?...are they full of pain?...are they at peace?...

I encourage you to look for these in your travels...thank you for sharing & my best to you!
