January 01, 2012 8:47am There's a lot of Rossetti here--a little "Vision of Fiammetta," a little "Lady Lilith," and a little "La Ghirlandata" (obviously it brings to mind his floral motifs), but the model's expression is most reminiscent of the "Venus Verticordia" and the whole photo really shares the gentleness of "A Sea Spell" (which makes for a stunning contrast even though it's referencing the same artist). A lovely shot overall.
