September 03, 2014 10:15pm Black men have a such a stereotypical masculinity that society puts on them, and they themselves...this shows a more venerable side, it's nice.
July 23, 2009 5:08am TALK IN GOOD, TALK IN BAD, BOT TALK ABOUT IT ... one things for sure an artist wants his work to get people attention ... and from all your debating comments, i give them props for that pic ... we can be for or against that shot depending of our background ... (BUT THAT PIC STILL GETS THE JOB DONE) ... bravo!!!
July 12, 2009 10:21am WOW!!!! WHAT A DISCUSSION/DEBATE THAT HAS ENSUED BECAUSE OF THIS SHOT "KUDOS" I WANT MY WORK TO DO THE SAME WHICH EVER WAY IT GOES I LOVE THIS SHOT !!!
October 14, 2008 4:11am Haha...interesting 'debate' going on!
I figure since the shot is obviously designed to be a relaxed, naturally posed image, the only problem we have with that is our own cultural uneasiness with the human body. To go about consciously covering body parts in this relaxed pose would be showing shame, which goes against nature, and towards learned, cultural fears and conformities. Everything about the image as it is indicates the model is comfortable with himself and the photographer/viewer, that this is natural, and there's no reason to be showing off nor hiding his anatomy...and here the model is doing neither of these things.
Too often it is thought we must show "all" or "nothing at all". What's wrong with "part" or "some"?
