March 07, 2015 10:07pm Every time I view this I notice more and more of its qualities... the balance of the whole, the way the subject is framed in the window (which is perfect), the old bed covers which have a wonderful disarray and painterly quality to them, love the water-stained ecru of the wall, the door ajar in the cupboard, the translucence of the drapes, the light across his diaphragm... so many delectable details... and there seems such an implied narrative to the subject: grief?shame? shyness? introspection? fatigue? memories? This is truly a masterful work.
